Learn a new word everyday with The Word of the Day! Open the app daily and it will download a new word along with its definition. Is it a cool word? Use it in a sentence and impress your friends by sharing it on Facebook and Twitter.

If you are running iOS 7, double tap on the word to listen to it. (Device must not be in silent mode).

Every new word downloaded is automatically saved to your Word Collection. To view your saved words just drag the screen to the left.

Sync your word collection between devices using Dropbox.

If you would like the app to remind you daily to check for the word of the day tap the clock icon. It will then notify you starting the next day at the time you select.

The daily word is downloaded from Wiktionary.

The only thing I would add is the correct pronunciation as well.

I was surprised to see expressions additionally. Nice little app.

I wish the daily word is added to my account even if I miss to tap the icon any day. Thats it

I really like this app. Just one thing that could be added is the pronunciation for the words.

This app is really cool I have my friends guess the meaning of the word I got that day and some if these words I have heard before but the app would be cool if you could hear the word being said

I love this app but it would be better if the word showed up in my notifications instead of me having to open the app and wait for it to load. Otherwise, I like it so far!

Some bad moments

The words it teaches you are from a middle school vocabulary book. The app doesnt give information on how to pronounce a word and doesnt use the word in a sentence which would be helpful. However the definitions are pretty clear and accurate and the app looks professional, but theres nothing to back up the app as functional. I switched to a dictionary.com emailing list and I am more pleased with the results.

some of the words i was given were "kosher", "ogry", "waft", and "cement". if those are the types of words youre looking to learn, then its a great app. if you already have a decent grasp on the english language, its a huge waste of time.

Some really terrible and already well known words. Its got a nice look to it, but thats it.

This so far this has been an introduction to slang, not words I would like to learn, or have children make part of their vocabulary. Even if an audio example were included, this app would not be my choice of advancing knowledge of words that would give others an impression that you were well spoken. It only gives me the impression that a slang dictionary was the only source of language available to the creator.

Of the words offered so far none have been new to me, the choices seem too basic. Also "think of the children" is not a word.

These arent real words in the dictionary and i wanted to learn actual words. NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!
