The Word of the Day! App Reviews

The words it teaches you are from a middle school vocabulary book. The app doesnt give information on how to pronounce a word and doesnt use the word in a sentence which would be helpful. However the definitions are pretty clear and accurate and the app looks professional, but theres nothing to back up the app as functional. I switched to a dictionary.com emailing list and I am more pleased with the results.

some of the words i was given were "kosher", "ogry", "waft", and "cement". if those are the types of words youre looking to learn, then its a great app. if you already have a decent grasp on the english language, its a huge waste of time.

Some really terrible and already well known words. Its got a nice look to it, but thats it.

The only thing I would add is the correct pronunciation as well.

I like this app, but the only thing its missing is the pronunciation of the words. It would be nice to have a button to click when I want to hear the word spoken.

Other than there being no pronunciation it it a good app

I was surprised to see expressions additionally. Nice little app.

This so far this has been an introduction to slang, not words I would like to learn, or have children make part of their vocabulary. Even if an audio example were included, this app would not be my choice of advancing knowledge of words that would give others an impression that you were well spoken. It only gives me the impression that a slang dictionary was the only source of language available to the creator.

I wish the daily word is added to my account even if I miss to tap the icon any day. Thats it

I really like this app. Just one thing that could be added is the pronunciation for the words.

This app is really cool I have my friends guess the meaning of the word I got that day and some if these words I have heard before but the app would be cool if you could hear the word being said

I love this app but it would be better if the word showed up in my notifications instead of me having to open the app and wait for it to load. Otherwise, I like it so far!

Of the words offered so far none have been new to me, the choices seem too basic. Also "think of the children" is not a word.

I really wish the app had an auditory and could pronounce the word for you

I would just add a way to hear the words so we can pronounce them correctly and less phrases more words !!! But over all great app :)

It is a fun app, I am always excited to find out the word of the day. That said some of the words are not that interesting. I find functionality of app poor. I often have to reopen app 2 or 3 times to have the word of the day updated.

Overall, this is a pretty decent app. Its pretty cool. I learned quite a bit of new vocabulary and I try to use it in my everyday talking. Like other reviews said, it would help to have the pronunciation to the words because if you pronounce them wrong, then you look stupid and not smart. Also, try not to have slang, but actual smart talk and fancy words.

These arent real words in the dictionary and i wanted to learn actual words. NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!

Ive been learning a new word each day with this app. Very concise and helpful.
